Hard Rain

Last Sunday we had a thunderstorm weather system move over our house. For those ill informed, my wife and I love storms - in fact when given the chance we like to storm chase. One of my favorite summer past times is photographing lightning (bet you didn't see that coming). Right..... light, camera and bad weather. Love it.

We live in a most opportune location because we're on the edge of town and can see the weather coming due to the lack of trees and buildings. (of course being on the prairies helps a lot.) Thought you might get a kick out of how that storm system looked to us.

Check out that high speed wind sheer on the cloud right in the center. The temperature dropped 4 degrees in minutes.


Unfortunately that isn't a funnel cloud in the bottom right.


Of course, the wall of rain that follows the front.
