Jaymi and Jared - the engagement

We shot an engagement session with Jaymi and Jared the other day. It's a great way to "practice" for your big day. You get an understanding of how to work with each other and how the shoot might unfold.

It's aways a blast to bring your hobbies into your photos. Can you guess Jared's? Sweet truck. Made for some great photo ops.

BTW, my good buddy Trev calls them (e)sessions. Nice - just wish I would have thought of it first. Oh well, next time.

Wednesday

The Ruby

One day in 2005 my wife and I were on a road trip and we found ourselves in Rouleau Saskatchewan, more commonly known as Dog River, home of the hit show Corner Gas. It was really cool walking around the buildings and sets where they film the show. Kind of surreal.

The road that runs from Moose Jaw to Weyburn has got to be the straightest piece of highway I have ever had fortune to roll rubber down - and the flattest. Nothing but prairie wheat and sky as far as the horizon. There's a certain kind of beauty there.

Yup, that's the Ruby,
and the short one is my wife.

Tuesday

Julianna and John's Wedding

Well this was a bit of a cold day, but we had fun nevertheless. First time I have been to the Vault Salon & Spa. Very cool place with a great group of people that will take care, pamper you and make you look your best. Big shout out to Michelle.

Both Julianna and John are artistic, so that can be a bit intimidating. But they are a super couple - so easy going and nice. I kinda hit it off with John because he is a graphic designer, and doing some great work.

Thought I would post a few shots that I liked.

Car Lust!

Came across a couple of great cars in the city this weekend. First we have the Jaguar XK, which has styling of a coupe that is splendid. Why can't North America make a car this lovely? Basically this is a way of getting the Aston Martin DB8 for 30% off.

It appears that Winnipeg has got a GT40, and a great one at that. Another timeless design. What a beautiful car! (BTW, one of my favorite Greek restaurants in the background - Kristina's)

Don't worry Aston Martin fans, I still think the DB8 is nicer than the Jag - in fact it is pretty much the most gorgeous coupe ever, its design is epic.

If any one out there is a car buff like myself, I suggest watching the TV show Top Gear filmed in the UK. It is by far the best automotive journalist show ever conceived. The cars are driven the way they were meant to be, the banter between the hosts is witty and the photography puts most feature length films to shame. In fact it has got to be the best looking car shots I've ever come across. It's worth a look for how they handle light alone.
