Here's my 3D avatar, although I'm not too sure I look this good. Even in my 3D avatar you have to wonder why the light is so nice. Favorite time of day and Googie design to boot. Nice!

Last Call Dec. 1 - Season's Greetings

Last call for sending out those "Season's Greetings" cards! If you are ordering through our online system Pictage, your cut off date for Christmas products is Dec. 1.

This year, it's extremely easy to order your cards and photos by using the new online ordering system. All you need to do is log into your online gallery, find the image you want to use for your card and click "Create a Card".

With the online card creator, you'll be able to customize things like borders, background color and text.

The "fine art" card is a folding card that's printed on a high quality print press, just like you'd buy in the store (watch out Hallmark). We recommend purchasing the 4x5 size, it's the easiest to mail and is the most cost effective.

The "photo greeting cards" are printed on real photographic paper and come 5x7 in size. These cards fit perfectly into a 5x7 photo frame or album.

To ensure that you get your order in time to send them out for the holiday season, I recommend placing it the next day or two!

Cheers,

Rebecca + Gil

What a way to wrap up the double header. Rebecca and Gil had a great vintage vibe to their wedding. Every thing from her shoes to the dress and flowers, the guys pin-striped suits; reminded me of the 30's. You have to love that.

Rebecca came to me wanting a very fashioned based look to her day. I thought it an opportune time to come up with a softer, vintage feel to the photos. Colors, or shall I say - lack of color that would suit the era.

So what do you think? Are these the shoes of the year? I have never seen such a great retro look.

Love her flowers

I know what you're thinking, a darker version of Matthew McConaughey...

With a Tom Cruise grin. Man you can't go wrong with that, sorry girls - he's taken. (brother to bride)

A little bit of painting with light.

Ending up at the Fort Gary once again.

Thank you guys for allowing me to be a part of your wonderful day, I really appreciate it. It was fantastic! Check out some more photos of the wedding here.

Scenes Sans People

One of my other passions or shall I say
genre of photography is architectural. I love the peaceful solitude - the complete yin yang of weddings.

Usually I'm coaching people, or directing models - keeping my subjects happy and excited.

This, this is a wonderful departure to a quiet land of form and function. Just me, space and light...

Enjoy the views of a room.

If you're wondering who did the wood work in these wonderful scenes, it was none other than the good guys at Twin Creek Woodcraft. Paul and his crew will take great care of you.

Thursday

Lisa + Lyle

This was the last double header weekend of the year, and I'm kinda thankful for that. But what a way to hit the ball out of the park! Both of the weddings turned out fantastic, some of my favorite photos of the year. (do I tend to say that a lot?) This time I mean it.

Got to be the best Groom Shot of the year. Seriously!

Lisa is a sister to one of my star grooms of the past, Kris from the infamous 'Kira and Kris' book. Okay that might be pushing it. But it's still my all time favorite book. Lisa and Lyle were no less the great couple to work with. She was stunning! I love expressive eyes, and Lisa didn't disappoint.

Love the vintage feel.

I love this photo; the light, the laugh, the giggle!

The outstanding feature of this wedding was none other than my #1 draw - Light. I have never had better. Every corner we turned left us in awe of light, not always quiet - but ever present.

Every once in a while the stars & planets line up and magic happens. The light is amazing; you capture your subjects in candid truthful moments - these, these are the times I fall in love...

"People use the terminology 'He's a commercial photographer, he's a fine art photographer, he's a landscape photographer.' I think it's hard enough just to be a photographer. I think that in using the term 'photographer' one should be very careful about what that really means. I grew up in a tradition where being a photographer was a very noble pursuit... You pursued it for the love and the passion, and doing it was a very difficult thing to do. There are thousands and thousands of people who take photographs, but very few photographers, because one has to have an eye, one has to have the vision, one has to have something to say."

Tuesday

Jerrah-Lee + Kevin

Well Jerrah-Lee and Kevin's wedding was a cold, wet day. Probably the worst weather we've had for a wedding this year. However, we made the most of it and had a great time taking photos together.

The wedding took place at the Evergreen Village, with special stops at a gravel yard and the local car wash.

Jerrah-Lee had this locket that has been in the family for decades, worn on the wedding day of the brides in the family. Jerrah had it in a little pocket sewn into her dress. Definitely a cool 'something old'.

Some getting ready photos in the old house.

Love the shoes.

I really love how the color of the leaves and their location play well with the guy's pose. Well planned? I think so.

A photographer can get tired of all the same ol', same old locations - like the Legislative. So we went some place new, or shall I say old.

The local car wash.

Now that is a sweet location for a shoot. I'm glad they went for it. It just goes to prove my point that you can take a great photo anywhere.

One of my favorite photos of the day. I guess I like the whimsical nature.

Jerrah-Lee and Kevin, I wish you all the best and God's blessings. It was fun being a part of your day.
